The Alpine Wine Society invites you to experience the elegance and adventure of the Alps from afar. Through tailored tastings and events, we'll acquaint you with thrilling wines made at daring altitudes, reflecting a world of exceptional skiing, gravity-defying mountaineering, and glamorous après-ski.
Whether it's exciting new versions of your favorite Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs, or exclusive grapes found only in the Alps, we'll bring Alpine wines to life in the rich context of the history, lifestyle and gastronomy of the high peaks. You’ll learn insider tips for selecting Alpine wines, perfect food pairings, and where to find these rare bottles, all informed by some of the foremost experts in the field.

Taste of the Slopes: the Wines of Europe’s Great Ski Resorts
Discover the local wines of some of the world's most beloved winter destinations, from France’s Chamonix to Switzerland’s Verbier to Italy’s Cortina d’Ampezzo. You'll learn how high altitude and steep slopes benefit wine as much as they do winter sports, sampling an assortment that includes native grapes found only in these special corners of the Alps. An overview of local culinary traditions rounds out this mini ski trip in a glass.
An Alpine Wine and Cheese Chalet
There's no greater place for a wine and cheese tasting than the Alps! From creamy Reblochon to salty Gruyère to silky Fontina d'Aosta, the Alps encompass a cornucopia of cheesy delights. You'll learn about the Alpine traditions of aging cheese in caves, and why some of these cheeses can only be made in specific geographic areas. And of course, you'll receive a lineup of high-acid and refreshing wines carefully selected to pair with the individual cheeses. An optional charcuterie addition deepens this savory Alpine experience.
Spotlight on an Alpine nation: France, Italy, Switzerland or Austria
Take a deeper look into the wine and culture of your Alpine nation of choice. Perhaps you'll be inspired by the elegant wines and rich auberge culinary scene of France's Savoie region. Or perhaps you'll unlock the secrets of the Swiss wine vault, where some of the world's top wines are being made with great precision and discretion. And then there are the Alpine riches of Italy, with the entire north graced by the Alpine range, and innumerable local wines and dishes contained within. And then, the hidden wine pockets Alpine Austria, where some of the most exciting new wines are poised to take center stage.
